Volunteer Audit Committee Member Opportunity

About the Audit Committee

The Audit Committee is composed of two Trustees and two independent volunteer community members. The Audit Committee supports the Board of Trustees by providing governance and oversight. The Committee's responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the financial reporting process

  • Evaluating the internal control framework

  • Reviewing risk management practices

  • Monitoring the performance and function of the Board's internal and external auditors

  • Ensuring compliance with legislative obligations

The Committee meets at least three times per year, with additional meetings scheduled as necessary.

Eligibility Criteria

We invite applications from individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Possess accounting, senior financial management, or relevant business experience, with a solid understanding of governance, public sector accounting, and auditing standards.

  • Are not a current employee or officer of the Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board, any other district school board, or school authority.

  • Do not have a parent, child, or spouse currently employed by the Board.

  • Reside in Bruce or Grey County and contribute to Catholic school education taxes.
